Our Mission
Sliding into Finance is dedicated to advancing financial literacy and mathematics to high school students by bringing together the financial services and sports industries to make financial education accessible and engaging.
Why Sliding into Finance?
Founded by Joshua Burstein and Zachary Burstein, Sliding into Finance was created in response to what the founders saw as a growing need among their peers for education around financial literacy and the mathematical skills that underpin financial decision-making as students begin thinking about college, careers, and financial independence.
Joshua and Zachary also recognized the increasing importance of such education for student-athletes in the fast-changing world of athletics. As the complexity of financial markets and personal financial decisions has grown, student-athletes can benefit from understanding key financial concepts to make informed decisions about income-earning and savings opportunities including NIL, scholarships, and other education-related opportunities.
Sliding into Finance seeks to address these needs by leveraging insights from leaders in the financial services and sports industries and delivering educational programs, offerings and content in ways that resonate with students and that help students see how financial principles and mathematics apply to everyday life and future opportunities.
