Sliding into Finance Launches Sliding into Math
Founders Joshua and Zachary Burstein expand the organization’s mission to tackle the numbers behind smart money decisions.
June 15, 2026. Sliding into Finance is proud to announce the expansion of its educational programming with the launch of Sliding into Math, broadening its mission of advancing financial literacy and mathematics to high school students by making financial education accessible and engaging.
Founders Joshua and Zachary Burstein recognized that financial literacy doesn’t exist in a vacuum — the mathematical skills that underpin smart financial decision-making are just as critical as the concepts themselves. Deciding how much to save or invest each month from a summer job, evaluating the cost of college or a scholarship offer, or even understanding an NIL deal for a student-athlete, all benefit from a strong foundation in math.
“We kept seeing the same gap. Students weren’t just unfamiliar with financial concepts — they also lacked confidence in the math behind them. As someone who is interested in a career in math, I recognized that financial education only goes so far. Sliding into Math is our answer to that.”
Joshua Burstein, Co-Founder, Sliding into Finance
Sliding into Math will deliver programming through the same channels as Sliding into Finance: in-person and virtual mentoring, and partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and industry organizations, all designed to show students how math and finance connect to real life.
