Meredith Rainey Valmon, Two-Time Olympian and Sliding into Finance Board Member, Addresses Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy

On July 29, Meredith Rainey Valmon, a member of the Sliding into Finance Board of Directors, NCAA Champion, and two-time Olympian, addressed a group of students at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy as part of Sliding into Finance’s summer programming in partnership with the Academy.

Meredith discussed the challenges of balancing academic responsibilities with competition at the highest levels of athletics, as well as the broader challenges confronting students in today’s environment, and offered guidance on how they might leave a lasting impact, both in the classroom and on the playing field.

Meredith also shared insights gained throughout her career regarding personal finance and saving, including how she approaches conversations about finance and investing with her own children. The students truly appreciated her talk, and we’re grateful to Meredith for her time.
